World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, and every year, is an opportunity to celebrate and be involved in helping raise awareness about autism spectrum disorders.

 

In partnership with the Australian Advisory Board on Autism Spectrum Disorders, we host a number of activities and events including the Annual NSW Autism Recognition Awards, an art exhibition by adults with autism Aspect School events, Aspect Adult Programs open days, and many more...

We are taking part in an international campaign to Go Blue and raise awareness about autism,  Click here for lots of ideas and ways to get involved - from changing your Facebook cover photo, lesson plans for schools and organising an event. Annual NSW Recognition Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2013 Annual NSW Recognition Awards with categories including individual achievement, parent/carer, professional, patronage or support and volunteers. Nominees and the people who nominated them will be invited to attend a special ceremony on April 9 where the aware recipients will be announced. Click here to find out more.

Celebrating the Spectrum Adult Art Exhibition

The exhibition is held every year around World Autism Awareness Day in April featuring artwork by people involved with Aspect, particularly Aspect's Adult Programs in Bexley, Canterbury and Ryde.

Organise a game of Pictionary

Get your friends, family or work mates together for Drawtism. Host a social game of Pictionary and help raise funds for the care and support of people with autism.

 

When you register you’ll receive a kit to help you host your game. Your game can be as big or as small as you like. April is Drawtism month however you can host a game any time of the year.

 

 Why not host a game with a blue theme this World Autism Awareness Day.
