Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP)

On Wednesday 13 May 2020, Aspect launched our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (2020 – 2023). This 3-year Plan will align and inform our Business Plan goals each year.

The first of Aspect’s four Core Strategies in the 2019 – 2021 Strategic Plan is to ‘Partner with people on the autism spectrum in Aspect’s governance, research, service planning and service delivery through the development of the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP)’.

One of the strongest and most meaningful of those collaborations, has been our partnership with the Autistic Self Advocacy Network Australia and New Zealand, (ASAN AUNZ). ASAN consulted with and strategically guided Aspect along the way to developing this Plan. We recognise that this has been a unique opportunity for both organisations, one Autistic and one service provider, to work together. The patience, trust and mutual respect demonstrated through this time is a major accomplishment and something that will set a precedent for things to come.
