What is this research study about?

The purpose of this research is to help us to better understand the barriers and facilitators to transition to university for individuals on the autism spectrum in Australia.

Why should I help?

It is hoped that the findings of this study will lead to improvements in provision of transition support and services for individuals on the autism spectrum when commencing university studies.

Who can take part?

You will be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • are on the autism spectrum
  • have commenced undergraduate studies at an Australian university within the previous 4 years and
  • have completed at least 6 months of university studies

Who is conducting this study?

This study is being conducted in partial fulfilment of a PhD. Alison Nuske is a PhD candidate at Flinders university who is undertaking research leading to the production of a thesis or other publications on the subject of transition to and first year of university for students on the autism spectrum.

What will I be asked to do?

Participants who meet the eligibility criteria will be asked to complete an online survey about their experiences of transition to university. Participation is entirely voluntary. The surveys should take approximately 30 – 45 minutes to complete.

The study is conducted entirely online. This means you can do it wherever suits you best, and in your own time.
