Many people on the autism spectrum struggle with the transition into paid employment.
Aspect offers extensive assistance with recruitment, job seeking, interview support, mentoring and training, both for employers and employees, through our Aspect Capable team.
In 2017, we partnered with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia to explore new and exciting ways to support people on the spectrum to find employment in one of Australia's largest banks.
Working closely with the team from CBA, a ten week program of six internships were creted within different parts of the organisation, giving individuals on the spectrum the opportunity to work within the bank.
The Aspect Capable Mentoring Program offers guidance and advice to assist adults on the spectrum to move into the world of work with ease and confidence. Our Employment Mentors are experienced in offering specialist employment support, so we understand your unique strengths and the barriers faced when making the transition into employment. We will work with you to uncover your untapped capabilities to fulfil your potential in the workplace and find meaningful employment
Aspect Capable is now offering School Leaver Employment Support services!
Aspect Capable is running a 3 month program for school leavers and young adults, commencing March 2018. This program offers both hands-on practical work experience and autism-specifically designed pre-employment training. Participants will have the opportunity to develop employability and social skills and then put them into practice in a real internship.
Aspect Capable Workplace Training offers bespoke autism awareness training for your organisation to understand the contribution employees on the autism spectrum can make to your workplace, learn best practice strategies for managing and supporting your employees and tips for successfully recruiting candidates from this untapped talent pool.
Aspect Capable Employer Recruitment Support provides support to your organisation to successfully hire and manage staff on the autism spectrum. With our support your organisation can access our talent pool of skilled candidates through our placement program to match our candidates to your specific requirements for internships or permanent positions.
Disability Employment Service’s (DES) and Transition to Work (TTW) providers around Australia are seeing an increase in their numbers of job seekers on the spectrum. Aspect Capable can work in collaboration with your client and staff to provide training, support and coaching to build the skills and capacity within your team and work with your clients to get better outcomes for your jobseekers on the spectrum.
Aspect Capable can meet employees’ training needs via our one day introductory training courses for employees on the spectrum.
Aspect Capable offers autism specific vocational assessments for individuals on the autism spectrum and workplace assessments for employers.
