Return to Early Intervention

Our team of early intervention specialists are able to deliver your individualised Aspect’s Early Intervention & Therapies program in your home, your child’s childcare, preschool, school or another environment of your choice. There are 3 components to your individualised Building Blocks program:

  • Making the Connection is an initial consultation with you and your child allowing us to understand your child and family’s needs.
  • Building the Foundations is our home based service teaching early behaviour and skills to support the learning and development of your child.
  • Transition to School aims to help your child make an easy transition to early childhood education, care or school.

Making the Connection
Making the Connection is an initial consultation with you and your child allowing us to understand your child and family’s needs.

We will ask you to explain your child’s needs and abilities, as well as your concerns as parents. We will use this information to assess your child’s requirements and provide you with information about your child’s autismor other disability and, discuss the impacts this may have on their development, learning and behaviour.

An individually developed profile of your child outlining their unique strengths, challenges, interests and motivations will help identify priorities for an intervention plan.

Building The Foundations
Building the Foundations is our home based service that teaches your child critical early behaviour and skills to support their learning and development.

These practical skills include; imitation, shared and joint attention, early communication, social play and adaptive skills.

Our early intervention specialists will help you reinforce these skills in your home and other setting by assisting you to turn everyday activities in to learning opportunities for your child. You will then be able to foster and promote the development of your child’s learning, development and social emotional regulation in your own settings.

Building Foundations provides examples of resources to support your child’s learning and communication and encourages you to further develop your own.

Transition support
Transition support is designed to support your child’s transition to early childhood education, care or school. By working collaboratively with your family, we will assess the needs and current levels of functioning of your child and develop an individualised plan to support and promote an easy transition.

Our team understands the importance of communicating with service providers and works in collaboration to help your child make an easy transition. To further support your child, we will discuss relevant resources, such as social stories and visual supports, and provide assistance to purchase transition support resources.
