Autism and employment: workshops to success

Are you an employee on the autism spectrum? Are you seeking the opportunity to improve your workplace skills and receive one of a kind autism employment training? Aspect Capable, Aspect's employment service, is offering a series of one-day small group workshops specifically designed to assist employees on the autism spectrum navigate the hidden curriculum of the workplace and develop the fundamental skills required for maintaining employment and succeeding within their role.

When:

Dealing with anxiety in the workplace: Friday 10th June 2016
Organisational skills in the workplace: Friday 15th July 2016 
Communication skills in the workplace: Friday 19th August 2016
Assertiveness skills in the workplace: Friday  16th September 2016

Eligibility:

  • Identify as someone on the autism spectrum
  • Currently, or soon to be, employed – including paid or unpaid employment

Cost:

$199 per workshop. Lunch, refreshments and take-home resources included

Presenter:

Vicky Little is a passionate and professional disability advocate, trainer and mentor with over 10 years’ experience in the field of autism employment in the UK and Australia. Her experience includes developing and coordinating specialist graduate employment and student support programs across England at the National Autistic Society’s employment service. These programs offered employment preparation and transition support for students and graduates on the autism spectrum, as well as provided training for employers and Higher Education institutes across the UK. In 2011, Vicky brought her experience back to Australia to run a mentoring and training service supporting adults with autism into employment, then joining forces with Aspect in 2014 to launch NSW’s first autism specific employment service, Aspect Capable. As Aspect's Employment Coordinator, Vicky coordinates a strengths-based employment service, raising awareness of the strengths and capabilities of adults with autism to employers and enabling individuals to thrive within the workforce.
