1)            Inspiration Award for Individual Achievement

               a)            youth (up to 21)
               b)            adult (21+)

Criteria:

  • a person who identifies as being on the autism spectrum
  • significant achievement in their own personal context
  • an inspiration to other people with autism
  • In any area of endeavour (arts, business, community service, sport etc)

2)            Parent/Carer of the Year Award

Criteria:

  • parent or carer of a person who is on the autism spectrum
  • significant contribution to the family, community or autism community generally
  • an inspirational role model for other parents or carers
  • contribution in increasing awareness or understanding of autism

3)            David Foster Appreciation Award

Criteria:

  • demonstrated exceptional commitment to volunteering by helping with ongoing activities or special projects in the autism community
  • demonstrated exemplary cooperation, consistency and hard work in their service to others in the autism community
  • outstanding contribution to community or state through volunteer service in the autism community

4)            Above and Beyond Award

Criteria:

  • individual or organisation
  • significant contribution to the autism community
  • contribution may be in the form of financial or in-kind commitment to improving the lives of people impacted by autism
  • an inspirational model for the community at large

5)            Advancement Award

Criteria:

  • a project developed for the autism community in technology, research, arts, practice or other social and cultural purpose.
  • addresses an important issue or a critical barrier to progress in the autism field (significance)
  • challenges and seeks to shift current practice paradigms through novel concepts, approaches, instrumentation or interventions (innovation)
  • demonstrates leading practice elements, successes and positive outcomes for the autism community that distinguish the approach from others or that could be replicated by others (impact)

  • In what role(s) or area(s) has the nominee excelled?
  • Can you give specific examples of your nominee's activity, contribution or achievement?
  • Why is the nominee's activity, contribution or achievement worthy of recognition?

  • What challenges has the nominee had to overcome?
