Spirit of Aspect Awards

2017 Inaugural Employee Recognition Awards

We are passionate about people, about being positive and about what’s possible.

Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is seeking nominations for the Spirit of Aspect Awards to recognise employees who demonstrate exemplary practice in living/ applying one of Aspect’s values in their day to day work.

There are three awards:

  • "Passionate about people" award
  • "Passionate about being positive" award
  • "Passionate about what’s possible" award

Criteria

  • Awards are open to any employee who has worked with Aspect for more than 12 months (at the time of nomination)
  • The employee demonstrates exemplary practice in living/ applying one of Aspect’s values in their day to day work.

    - Passionate about people or
    - Passionate about being positive or
    - Passionate about what’s possible
     
  • The nomination must be supported by the employee’s unit manager or National Director (the organiser will obtain this endorsement prior to the nomination being submitted for judging)

Activities, contributions or achievements of the person or organisation you are nominating

Supporting statement

Please provide a summary of the outstanding activities, contributions or achievements of the employee you are nominating for an award. It is important to include a statement in your own words about why you think this individual should be singled out and recognised with an award.

The statement must provide specific examples/ evidence of how the employee demonstrates exemplary practice in living/ applying one of Aspect’s values in their day to day work.

The following questions may assist you to highlight your nominee's activities, contributions or achievements:

  • In what role(s) or area(s) has the nominee excelled?
  • Can you give specific examples of your nominee's activity, contribution or achievement?
  • Why is the nominee's activity, contribution or achievement worthy of recognition?
  • What impact has the nominee's contribution had on the community of people on the spectrum or on Aspect?
  • What challenges has the nominee had to overcome?
  • What makes your nominee stand out?
  • Over what period has the nominee made a contribution?

(Please attach as a word document or pdf. The statement should be no more than 300 words please. It may be accompanied by testimonial statements from other staff, clients or families, photographs or other evidence. Managers or staff may support clients in submitting a nomination if preparing the statement poses difficulties for them.)
