Aspect comes to the Mid North Coast

  • Posted: Thu, 21/11/2013 - 1:12pm

New disability services now available in Coffs Harbour and surrounding areas.

The first service available in the area is Aspect’s Early Intervention & Therapies program.  Early Intervention & Therapies is an early intervention home based service. The service will be available to children aged between 0 and 7 who have a diagnosis of autism.

Aspect’s  Early Intervention & Therapies is recognised through the Australian Government’s Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) package as an evidenced-based comprehensive program. The individualised  Early Intervention & Therapies program is delivered by mobile early intervention specialists in an environment the family chooses (including home based, pre-school, kindergarten or a school setting). To be eligible, children being referred to the service must have a letter of introduction from the Autism Advisor Program (Tel: 1300 978 611) and have the HCWA funding package. Referrals can be made by families, who can contact Aspect for an Information Pack. These services are also available through individualised packages and fee for service.

This is the first phase of Aspect’s Mid North Coast service offerings, which will roll out over the next 12 months. Also available in the area will be Aspect’s Training and Professional Development – a fee for service program where training options are available to families, government and non-government service providers.

Families are advised to call 1800 ASPECT for more information.
