Autism Queensland and Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) to remain separate entities
In 2016 Autism Queensland and Aspect formed a strategic alliance to explore the possibility of amalgamation.
After an extensive due diligence process, the identification of certain governance and regulatory issues involved in the structuring of the merger has resulted in a decision by the Boards of Autism Queensland and Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) not to proceed with the proposed merger.
The work of the alliance however has made for a stronger working relationship between the two organisations, which will continue, as they each work to provide the best possible supports and services for people on the spectrum and their families.
