Wear it Purple Day is coming up, this Friday the 28th of August, 2020. Wear it Purple Day is about showing LGBTQIA+ young people that they have the right to be proud of who they are.

Last year over 750 schools, community organisations and universities held events across Australia, and through the activities of schools that recognise Wear it Purple Day, an estimated 600,000 young people were reached, seeing the respect, acceptance and inclusion that surrounds them.

As Aspect continues to develop an inclusive organisation and inclusive services, some of our Wear it Purple Day activities include:

  • Aspect schools participating in Wear it Purple Day
  • Aspect staff connecting through an online Wear it Purple Day quiz with a guest speaker

New resources available for the LGBTQIA+ community

In consultation with the Aspect LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee and their lived experience, Aspect also identified the most relevant and useful information and supports for people, families and professionals. New resource sheets were co-produced with Autistic LGBTQIA+ people and added to our Wear it Purple Dayweb page.
